If Violence Breeds More Violence...What Does That Say About Libya's Future?

It's more than a little disturbing watching the events in Libya this evening.  International journalists trapped inside a hotel after being abandoned by their armed guards.  Random Rebel gunman yelling to the cameraman above him a few floors, that he wants no pictures!  The poor British journalist trying to cover the story for CNN is obviously distraught and literally wiping sweat he makes as we watch.  Quaddafi's son has been captured and with assurance for his safety; as Rebel forces have been told to honor all situations that warrant "Prisoner Of War".  There are all kinds of rumors of Quaddafi himself being captured as well that are yet to be verified.

So while the excited CNN journalist shuffles her story in anticipation of this profound turn of events; I look at the roots of what may be the next new flower in the desert.  During the Spring uprisings I likened all the new countries as new flowers busting thru their hard earth finally.  As I type this....Rebels are taking over the streets of Tripoli.  A strong momentum for growth if properly fertilized; or is the soil already too spoiled?

Four decades of a regime run by what's been called "gore propanda", fear, and mind control.  Leaving one resident who states in anonymity, that "Libyans are warm people, but if you touch them they will turn on you and beat you to the ground".  Years and years of control through violence.  A rocky ground for something so young and fragile as freedom...and freedom won through violence.

As I pointed out in that previous post; the garden where these new wild flowers are trying to grow...is most likely full of snakes and predators as well.  Will the ones who rise up as leaders be able to model a break from all old habits?  Will they themselves be threatened by those more violent than they?

The fact that anything or anyone can grow in our present environment worldwide is noteworthy.  A world beaten down even in the most longstanding governments, let alone floundering and waving in the wind types.

Just what is the role of NATO these days?  Is this the new advance group to proliferate outcomes?  And for whom?

Boundaries are changing in many places.  If you were a "New World Order" afficionado; you could definitely make a case for the time honored practice of chaos designed for control.  While all the while, someone makes a profit.  Has the era of war replaced the Industrial Revolution?  Will there soon be less jobs everywhere, except for military and warfare based industry...and of course the rebuilding folks make out well too.  But do the ones they supposedly help to rebuild?  And at what cost to the rest of us who silently fund this process by our expected submission?

Here's an article by Paul Craig Roberts at "The Centre For Researh On Globalization".  He tells better than I could of what's going around in my head as well.  A shocker in this article, is reference to eagerness to combat China next over some disputed islands.  Thereby having China facing two wars, as we enlist India in NATO to occupy Pakistan.  You need to read this stuff.  It's another reminder why we just can't seem to get that damn Military budget down.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=23394

So just checking in on my last night of unelected freedom from work.  My ankle is sore but healing and with clearance I return to work tomorrow after exactly 3 months.  A nightmare in itself that left me watching and listening even more than usual to current events.  A state most don't have the luxury of with work routines and all other distractions.  Not a good time to look away though, is what I would caution.  Just following the money is enough.  Thinking of that annoying song in the musical "Cabaret"...."Money Makes The World Go Round...The World Go Round".

Here's the closing quote from the article above:

"As General Smedley Butler told the jingoistic American population, to no avail, “war is a racket.” As long as the American population remains proud that their relatives serve as cannon fodder for the military/security complex, war will remain a racket. "

Indy State Fair Tragedy...A Lesson On Hoosiers & Humanity"

Inline

I decided to use the above picture in the beginning of this piece; because it demonstrates the ominous sky that can move in quickly in Indiana.  Only someone who has lived there, or at least been caught in a storm while passing thru, can really appreciate the force of what can happen there weather wise.

This is the part of the country that is notorious for it's weather, mostly due to the convergence of currents from North and South.  The strong cold current that comes down from Canada and across the Great Lakes, combined with the oppressive heavy warm currents that come up from the Gulf.  Where they meet and sometimes dance, is not always a pretty site or a safe place to be.

This is exactly the situation that happened last night in Indianapolis at our beloved State Fair.

Here are the graphic sights and sounds of this sad scenario that happened in seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TdpzTOTo_UI

This happened approximately 30 minutes after a beautiful Sara Bareilles set, where she talked about what a beautiful evening it was.  Those in charge at the fair had started to see bad weather coming on their phones and alerted the public accordingly.  Offering safe places in the Pepsi Coliseum indoor venue, and the Swine barn, which has stood in this same place since 1923.  A building built of brick, steel, and tile, with cement floors.  The architects even threw in a hog's head sculpture as a whimisical gesture and nod, to our affinity for raising hogs and giving them a fitting Hog Palace.  Here's a picture of that same building.

So safety was offered to the huge crowds who turned out on the last Saturday of the State Fair,  A night that usually brings the largest acts and the largest crowds.  Besides the  Hoosiers that come from all over the state for the fair; there is also a huge community of those who stay sometimes the entire 2 weeks camping out in campers or livestock barns.  So no wonder there was an estimated 12,000 there at the time of the accident, even after an intitial warning had been raised.  We've also all been raised in this crazy weather all our lives.

Weather that literally can change in seconds, and leave you wondering where it vanished to.  Where even very frightening moments are replaced with beauty in a short time or vice versa.  Unfortunately, it lulls you into that "I can withstand anything" mentality for having been taught all our lives..."If you don't like the weather...wait a minute and it'll change".  Last nite they shouldn't have stayed; and all that's irrelevant in the whole story and for many reasons.  The real and most meaningful message for me from this moment; is the always constant commitment of Hoosiers to help others.  In only 20 minutes after the terrible collapse of the Grand Stand Stage, most if not all trapped, were freed and on their way to treatment.  Certainly there were police and medical staff in attendance as at all State Fairs; but the real story here are those who didn't turn and run away....but instead rushed to help those who couldn't help themselves.

Not because Hoosiers are eager to be heroes.....but because we help others.

When I read this demonstration of selfless courage and commraderie, I cried.  Cried for the recognition of my roots that makes me the same caring and helping Hoosier too.  Cried in joy and pride of those who have grown up like me, and make the world a better place for it.  Cried for all the pain and suffering of so many who had the misfortune to be there.  Cried knowing an example of Humanity at it's best had happened in my hometown and reminded me of all that makes us proud to be Hoosiers,  that I can never completely deny that I miss.  No matter where I have wandered.

When I think about where that Hoosier spirit truly comes from, it's no doubt everything to do with pioneer beginnings.  Even the indians who were already there, were known for getting along with everyone.  You also couldn't survive and thrive back then, without the help of those around you.  Community was cherished and still is in Indiana and many places all around us.  People helping others, to forward the whole group... and insure not only survival but prosperity for all too.  Understanding compromise and it's benefits as the true tools for harmony.  Only trying to wish good for everyone else, as you could count on them only wishing you well also.

What a primitive and beautiful comment on how we were meant to care for one another.  A manner that some today cannot embrace and would call us "backwoods" in our displays of true kindness.  One of the first things I had to posture on moving here to Boston, was not smiling automatically at others all the time...lol.  It's what we do in the Midwest.  It's what your supposed to do when you meet eye to eye with someone on the street.  It is basic civility and offering a positive gesture.  I quickly learned that here in Boston, such a manner would brand me deranged and worse ... weak.

The bright side of my job is that I can incorporate my friendly Hoosier warmth in my brand of caregiving with my patients.  In general, they love it.  Sometimes not immediately, as no one is used to such spontaneous friendly moments; but 99% of the time...leave a little warmer and kinder and happier for it.  The extra rewards I get for seeing the transformation is priceless.  You get what you give.

Here's an example of the worst of that in the way we inter-act with others.

Day before yesterday, I completed two days of doctor evaluations for my release back to work.  It will be a journey of 4 months by the time I return to my job.   That all started with someone who so obviously had no concern for others.   A motion that led to fractured ankles for both me and my love....and all you endure mentally and physically thru the nightmare after a traumatic motor vehicle accident.

So on a beautiful Summer Friday in Boston, and with new clearance for weight bearing and walking in tennis shoes versus the boot cast....I gave myself a much needed adventure on a glorious blue sky day.  My mission....was to get a much needed trim by my blessed friend and stylist at the Sassoon Salon...maybe even do some shopping at the Girlie stores on Boylston Ave...and just soak up being outside again and moving in my new hard fought freedom.

A strategic part of my plan, was to also brave the anxiety of riding public transportation again.  A process I have to conquer in order to just commute daily to my job.  So it was with much courage and trepidation that I made my way down the subway stairs, enboldened with my fresh new hair, and cherishing the few purchases I carried in my shoulder bag.  My first attempt at any stairs since the accident.  And I did it safely and well.... until.....just as I'm making my way to the tracks....seeing a train waiting and knowing I can wait for the next one in ten minutes too....

A man behind me is literally breathing down my neck...and telling me rudely to get out of his way or he'll miss his train!  An act that has sadly become acceptable here and many places....where tailgating is replaced with tailwalking madness.

Not the day to give me reason to be a real Hoosier and destroy my joyous day.  So as I boarded the same train, that was still there after the rude one passed me, it was fate that had me standing right next to my "forced to listen" abuser.  I let him have it...."showed my ass" some.. as my 84 year old mother still describes her moments of speaking out:)  Told him I had a broken ankle and can't move any faster...and his reply...."Where's your cast then?"  What a true Boston asshole this one felt proud to be....as he did his best display for everyone around... to turn it cowardly around on me....for having the courage to speak out.

These are the moments I can never accept or defend in my new hometown....or anywhere....and be a true Hoosier in spirit and deed.  One who tries to infuse that sweeter aspect as much as is allowed; and when faced with an act that is blatantly wrong...not hesitate to stand up for what is inherent in all humans ... compassion to do right for all.  A basic concept that seems to have vanished and is not the legacy for future generations it shoud be.  We are all in this together.  We save us all when we live with this in mind.  We must reclaim our love for each other, that would show the spirit of those brave Hoosiers last night... who did not hesitate to help those who could not help themselves.

If you've never visited my beautiful home state of Indiana; I promise it's a most pleasant experience in general.  Though those in the large coastal capitals both East and West would denounce us as simple....Today I am proud and grateful for those simple Indiana beginnings...and the gifts I still carry for their lessons.  For all the heartache and sadness of a tragedy that came out of nowhere; I know my fellow Hoosiers will be seen and remembered not just for their heroics;...but also the commitment to help all and without hesitation.

Prayers of support are in order for all those touched by this tragedy, including the sad band members and crew just trying to give everyone their best ... on a beautiful Summer night in Indiana....

Where when they play our state's song "Back Home Again In Indiana" it's for everyone from there or not.....who feel her welcoming arms....and look forward to the sweet returning.

We may have some of the deadliest weather in the country....but we make up for it in our strength and heart to endure....and our generosity to share all that's good about our home.  "Hoosier Hospitality" is alive and well in the Hoosier State....and may it live on and be an example to all!

Thanks to Indystar.com for the pictures.  You can view the local reporting at their site for stories like this one:

As I post this link the death toll has now risen to 5 with the latest headlines.

In memory of this Hoosier time of sadness and loss....I would ask everyone to try and be more like happy Hoosiers at their best.  Try smiling more and showing Randome Acts Of Kindness.  That would truly be the best tribute to those Hoosiers I love.  You will be pleasantly surprised at what you'll recieve in return....

Take it from this Hoosier...I know:)

Though many have sung and given personal renditons of our cherished state song, from Louis Armstrong to Chet Atkins and even Bobby Sherman.  The one voice that still is the most true to the song's sentimentality....for all Hoosiers and Honary Hoosiers.....is the voice of Jim Nabors who sings it still at the start of the infamous Indy 500 Race.  Though not a Hoosier by birth he is in spirit and by our love adoption...the honorary Hoosier we most love hearing sing our song.

Here's a great video of that moment that touches all when they hear it's sweet refrain...

FORGET "MAD DOG" MICHELLE....YOU'RE MISSING THE "WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING"!

It's no wonder that Michelle Bachmann is garnering so much attention these days; but it is already hard to swallow for anyone with a clear mind and time to look at the facts.  I mention the time factor, as so many people are so busy just existing and re-acting to life's daily abuse these days.  My favorite male opinion to ponder, and the number one man in my life, reminds me of this phenomena often these days.

In our generation especially, which was the same generation that made up 50% of the total population in the 60's & 70's, the perspective has obviously shifted with time passage in our lives.  Where we were a formidable force for our numbers radically in our youth; do we now have many looking more at the end of their days?  In other words, is the momentum for "religiously righting" our lives, in line with realizing that religion may save us, no matter how we've failed in real life in the end?  From the Jehovah Witnesses to the Mormons; do they all not promise a reward in the afterlife?  Better yet, if you subscribe to beliefs based in "Born Again" philosphies; you can absolutely be absolved in this life and start all over again, clean as the driven snow.  All appetizing scenarios for those whose religious roots or new religious values, relieve their anxiety of the uncertainty of our less predictable world and our inevitable end of days.  Nothing wrong with that as long as it remains personal; but that's where the "Hungry Wolves" realize their control of your faith and willingness to be part of the "chosen flock".

With so many references in the Bible regarding the loving Shepherd, Lamb Of God, and the loyal "flock"; we would seem to be referred to as those who require herding and guidance.  Another principle that has not escaped the "Wolves", who wish to lure us from the flock or disguise themselves as "one of the flock", in order to "quick kill" us, before we realize our  true enemy and the horrific fate of being eaten alive.  You can surely find all kinds of lessons in Nature, and especially when life was more basic, it was appropriate for the lessons to be as well I suppose.  But our lives are more complicated these days and deceptions so more sophisticated in their design.  Still, a basic reminder to watch out for those deceptions is more relevant than ever.

For all those who have tried fervently to make us believe we are a country founded on religious principles, this is really a common deception as well.  Religious Freedom was just one of the real motivations of those first to brave coming to look for a new home.  Freedoms of all kinds were reason to hope for more in a new land.  The wish to not be slaves to "Taxation Without Representation" was also a common motivator after we arrived.  Those listed as our "Founding Fathers" are actually categorized in both Christian and Anti-clerical Christian or Deistic beliefs.  "Deism" being belief in a creation and creator; and the belief that a "Supreme Being does not intervene in human affairs or suspend the natural laws of the universe.  The more famous Deists who helped write our constitution are; Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Paine.  Their beliefs and attitudes more reflected their time in the "18th Century Of Enlightenment" that evolved from the "Scientific Revolution" of the 17th century.  In their times, history shows a very strong influence of Deism as a theological doctrine that has had a great influence on the character of the modern world.  They felt they were being modern at the time in accepting new findings,  proven in fact thru Science, and allowing for a more practical viewpoint in observing Nature.  A Nature they viewed as already perfect by creation; and without necessity for intervention.  If you look up "Deism" in relation to the attitudes that helped shape our nation, it makes you actually feel more confident that they were looking at things for all of us, with an even stronger conscience than they're given credit.  These were exceptional men and exceptional contributors long before they faced such a daunting task.  Joseph Ellis, a professor of History at Mount Holyoke University, wrote a book called "Founding Brothers".  Here's a quote that helps to paint who these illustrious and mysterious characters were in their day.

"Ellis says "the founders," or "the fathers," comprised an aggregate of semi-sacred figures whose particular accomplishments and singular achievements were decidedly less important than their sheer presence as a powerful but faceless symbol of past greatness. For the generation of national leaders coming of age in the 1820s and 1830s – men like Andrew Jackson, Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, and John C. Calhoun – "the founders" represented a heroic but anonymous abstraction whose long shadow fell across all followers and whose legendary accomplishments defied comparison. "We can win no laurels in a war for independence," Webster acknowledged in 1825. "Earlier and worthier hands have gathered them all. Nor are there places for us ... [as] the founders of states. Our fathers have filled them. But there remains to us a great duty of defence and preservation."

What I'm trying to get to, is that these were men of great thought and experience, trying to navigate as clear a course, as their combined wisdom was committing them to for their efforts.  They already knew and had lived some of the pitfalls of being led solely by congregational dictates by the likes of The Church Of England and the Catholic Church.  Where in both cases even then, greed and power were found to be hiding behind the religious robes.  Thomas Jefferson is cited as actually being a man of strong religious conviction and especially as it relates to each man being able to have his own personal beliefs, and without interference of government.  I'm including a link to his famous "Wall Of Seperation" letter, that has a nice set up of the circumstances that prompted the letter in the first place.  Here though I've copied the real "meat" of the letter to refer to in this context.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. [Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from prescribing even those occasional performances of devotion, practiced indeed by the Executive of another nation as the legal head of its church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."  Here's the link: http://www.usconstitution.net/jeffwall.html

So when you look at the real history and history makers that led the birth of our nation, what the HELL has happened to the politicians who are supposed to be carrying on for us those sacred and astute principles?  The undeniable fact is the inclusion of those in "Sheeps Clothing" who would do their own herding and selective stalking based on their hunger for power and wealth.  Creating new policies and dictates along the way that were not always sincere. as our Shepherds led us to believe.  Spawning Law pundits in abundance who would find ways to twist and obscure those basic principles for whomever they served. that were'nt always their constituents.  The infusion of Religion in Politics has never been more evident in the United States.  Since the likes of Karl Rove and Republican strategists in general,  figured out the potential of adding fervent religious voters to grow their numbers and lend themselves as the kindly Shepherds.

We were never meant to discriminate or chastise any based on their personal religious beliefs.  Beliefs known to be highly inflammable for their obvious passions.  Yet today, we have Presidential candidates who use their limelight to denounce those they find in conflict with their personal beliefs..ie: Mad Dog Michelle, and all the others who use the "Religious Right" card.  Made even more distasteful, for the fact that Michelle is  being held up as a valid female candidate, when she's really held up by contributions from those who hope a woman never becomes President of the United States.  Used simply as a catalyst to incite the angry masses looking to assume their power over what others believe as well.  I mean come on, she's listed as the number one famous graduate of her alma mater Oral Roberts University.  Shouldn't that be a testimony in itself?  And though I know that most have denounced her as any real serious candidate; we can't stop there.  In the meantime, she still has the advantage of too many opportunities to forward her contributors agendas....especially the evil Koch Brothers....who also are now more mainstream by association.  We now know that it's not any coincidence that she is radically against Social Security and Labor Unions.  The Koch boys have been on that mission for many years, and thanks to the likes again of Karl Rove; they successfully funded Michelle Bachmann and the Tea Party philosphies in the earliest days.  Now they are also throwing money at another dispicable and grossly religious guided candidate like Rick Perry of Texas.  It's not just because they are fellow Texans either.  It's because they know, thanks to the political strategists at their command and all the "Think Tanks" they form to validate their conclusions of society, that to diffuse the vote in general, is just as deadly as offering a real contender.  If they can also persuade enough votes for any Moderate or Independent candidate; they are in effect taking votes from the incumbant and helping to insure their man Mitt Romney will succeed.

It's unfortunate that we have to try and think like the strategists and sort thru all the muck, when just trying to be any kind of conscious and aware citizen these days.  Being forced to just "stomach" all the vile innuendos being played out, or feel we're even more at risk for giving up our rights by default.  With strategies that include being so burdened with just existing, that we're forced to look away as they slip on the disguises and stand there grinning at us like they're one of us.  I know I bordered on incessant ranting in my last post, and I humbly ask for forgiveness.  I don't want to be seen as irrelevant when trying to relate these important topics.  It's hard enough just fighting all the negative stereotypes being thrown around about women these days; and that's truly no coincidence either.  We've become too complacent with allowing those like Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin being held up as representative of women in this country today.  Even though it's obvious they're both so wrong and will never be in the highest office in the land.  The "Wolves" use them as a shield for their dastardly deeds by soliciting to women who wish to see themselves finally in a position to finally be heard  and taken seriously.  By making it appear that it's actually acceptable to recruit votes based on religious bias and opinion, though it's really a crime and should be seen as such.  Except that the "Wolves" have been successful in the past by using them and then having to give them what they crave in return.  It's absolutely no different than "Big Business Lobbyists" who also introduced this same leverage...for the "Wolves".....When will we "Out" all of them for what they really are?  Our biggest natural enemies yet!  The original design was for us all to succeed...and to remember that we're all in this together...and it's no one's job to mandate their personal beliefs...or to be the "Wolves" who decide who and where the "flock" should be cut.

Here's a great example of the principles I've sighted and a reminder to not become accustomed to this style of "Politics As Usual" we're subjected to on many levels and in many ways in our daily lives.  Rachel Maddow like me, shares the uncomfortability of having Scott Brown as our local representation, who is supposed to be out there working for us.  Watch Scott Brown begging the Koch boys for more funds:(

Time To Try And Find The Future

It's more than a little exciting to say I'm looking at the Future again.  Real deadlines are approaching that herald the end of my recovery and the return to work.  All, signposts of moving on optimistically and jumping back into the rhythm of life as a contributor, more than a spectator.  Which is fine with me, even as anxious as I am about the initial transition.  Luckily, number 1 I have a job and one I like and likes me.  I have supportive superiors who held me up thru the worst of times, and truly are glad to see my return.  I know after treading water in the in between lately, that my circumstances are no longer just norm; but may actually be exceptional.  I am someone who likes to stay current with the news everywhere, and therefore sees many facts and figures.  Unfortunately for everyone these days, having all the info is so frightening; it may make you wish you never looked.  Upon just researching some of the topics on my mind today; I had to take a happy juice break and brew my blessed Goji tea:)

O. K.....Here's my mid blog commercial for a healthier future:)

If you've not discovered all the wonderful benefits of Goji...you should!  Now!  It has the most powerful anti-oxidant properties that stimulate all circulation.  Improves stamina and immune system.  Gives you that nice extra "Zing" of energy; but without the anxiety from caffeine.  And....it's also known to not only boost your overall mood.....but also your SEX DRIVE!  Do I have your attention now?

No future is valid without history.  History is the wise platform to hold the more vulnerable aspects of our chosen paths forward.  If you research the history of the exalted Goji for instance; you will find a rich and ancient approval for all it's virtues.  Time honored acclamations of it's obvious benefits from wise and humble Himalayans.  Who by the way, live long and healthy lives and many beyond 100 years.  Ever see a Tibetan who wasn't smiling a bright big smile?  Well, except for their fear of the evil emporers of China who wish they'd all disappear:(  The lesson here is, they do live on despite their circumstances.  Seem to be successful at living their version of a joyous life, and with an example that deserves recognition.  They have been ingesting Goji berries in one form or another for centuries.  Sounds like something good to be found here; but you have to try for yourself or ever wonder:)

We need more time to look at what works and what doesn't when plotting our futures.  I'm currently consciously trying to plan for all the included time and extra demands I face, till I'm really back in true form.  It's not unreasonable to think of our country and our world for that matter, as victims in recovery.  I certainly can't think of any time in our past when it was perceived not only by our own citizens, but also the world, that the good ol' U.S. is not so good.  In reality we are possibly in dire  jeopardy of losing our status as any true leader of the Future.  Now almost surely dictated to by other countries who have made us slave to their dictates, for our monetary obligations.  Failing first and foremost our own citizens, in denying our Future, as they sold it in future shares long ago.  Using the motto of "Change" as a cry to rally, when in reality we dashed all the hopes of future voters, and may have possibly jaded them from participating in real numbers in future elections.  We of more years on the planet and experiences, tried to warn those shiny new voters to not discount history and age and wisdom.  But the promise of a more youthful perspective that would be nothing like previous generations was just what was sold....and bought fervently by the next generations.  They thought they were getting innovation and were truly invited and included in an exciting new Future.  Shame on all the good ol' boy gang who led the lambs to slaughter.  Shame on everyone for not believing a capable woman could be president.  The idea of the first minority president was also attractive to voters raised more multi-cultural and accepting of race.  I was proud to see their dedication to a principle they had mostly overcome and wanted squashed.  It was right to challenge the idea of racism at all levels; unfortunately it was also the very thing those who don't want "Change", embraced passionately also.  Knowing they could rally all the racists and their anger to their advantage in the end.

When looking at history it's important to accept the realities, good and bad.  The reality of present day politics, is that it is still the same as it has been; but with new names and faces who still represent the agendas of those who really plan our Future.  There's no better representation of this than the glorified Bohemian Grove, who just happened to be in session during our nation's latest crisis.  No I'm not talking about the baby burners the Conspiracy Theory crowd loves to hate or the most faggoty group Richard Nixon ever saw.  I'm talking about the undeniable power manipulators of everyone's Future.  The ones who still claim that no important decision can be made to include the general population, let alone a woman!  There's no denying anymore, and they don't even try to hide the fact, that  they parlay the economic forecast as well as the political one and are still able to achieve all this out of sight.  Whomever would disagree is really wearing the class stamp of sheep they feel the rest of us deserve.  Their infamous "Lakeside Chats" when filtered out to those of us not worthy, are notorious for predicting our imminent futures in many ways.  It's time we were more aware and bothered by the Summer Secret Agendas that are hatched in these private woods.  I would give anything to see what the "Lakeside Chat" was this year!

Here's a pertinent paragraph found in a Vanity Fair article by someone other than Alex Jones, who also penetrated the impenetrable brotherhood at Bohemian Grove, dated May 2009.

"All kinds of events have been lined up: on the great pop hits of World War II, Gypsy music, mushrooms, Hollywood and its global audience, Sam Cooke, National Geographic’s Genographic Project, Cajun music. The talks at the lake and the museum reflect the growing anxiety in the Grove: “America, We Have a Problem,” by Bohemian Norman Augustine; “The Future Isn’t What It Used to Be,” by Ken Jowitt. Other offerings: “The Role of Nuclear in America’s Energy Choices”; “Always Present—The Role of Religion in American Politics”; “Past Ideals—Future Strategy,” by James Billington, Bohemian and the Librarian of Congress. Tony Snow, a Bohemian and one of George W. Bush’s more effective press secretaries, is scheduled to talk about “Life in the Press Room,” but he will die today, I will find out later, after a prolonged battle with colon cancer. They must not have been able to change the program."

You can find the entire article here:  http://www.immortaltechnique.co.uk/Thread-Vanity-Fair-gets-into-Bohemian-Grove

The above mentioned article is probably the best and most fact based of any I've found.  Especially since the close friend of the journalist who steered his insights, is actually a 4th generation member.  What better way to view the old guard and the Protestant & Capitalist based ethics that have survived. It also shows their still resistant strategies to "Change" unless it's their change.  An example of a younger more "Green" based member challenging those who see themselves as a force of Nature.  Not so far from what's actually real in our everyday lives as the "unchosen".  As hard as we try to fight the visible and invisible power manipulators; they're force in numbers that represent the elite and all the obvious resources at their disposal, make for what appears to be an impenetrable adversary.  So how do you fight the "good ol' boys"?  With their greatest fear, a Liberal woman who can lead!.  Do you really think it's a coincidence that Bill Clinton is not a member and has to my knowledge and his comment, never visited the Grove?  With the supposed broad spectrums of members that include the likes of Henry Kissinger and Jimmy Buffet.  Donald Rumsfeld and even a couple of members of the Grateful Dead.  Who also supposedly include both Republicans and Democrats.  Why then is it, that someone who so richly made our economy grow and helped people at all levels undeniably prosper, would not be welcome in this group?  Because he's also married to the only woman ever, who makes this gang shudder and shake at what she might truly be capable of....and that's telling it like it is....and something they will never do...or even more sinister...ever allow to happen in their idea of the Future.  Instead they like to advertise those like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman who in reality prove their point with their ignorant and comical attempts.  Just another way to keep us down and to propagate the idea that women don't belong in their "Club". YUK!!!

(BTW)   Musicians and actors are welcomed at the Grove for their obvious entertainment value, and to give some validity to the club's initial founding members who embraced the Arts, before they made the mistake of adding Big Business bullies into their idealistic private club.  To those artists who allow themselves to be paraded around for what they know is really more persuasion for the cause...You Make Me Wanna Puke!  Just sayin':)

So my point here again, is that no Future can be considered without first looking at the past.  Right now we're again on the edge of another election that will undoubtedly flavor our Future here and with the most sensitivity ever....our Futures globally.  The opinion polls today of what "we the people" think of either party's action in the latest Debt Debacle scenario, tells of extreme dissatisfaction.  Good!  Finally we may be recognizing that to be the "silent sheep", means you get stuck in sheep shit up to your eyeballs!  The problem in this analysis, is that the past power manipulators and the present, have set in to place so many ways to insure their survival, even if we try and think outside the box.  The proof is in our present day President, who as much as I do admire in many ways, has also been rendered powerless, by those spiders who weave their webs far and wide.  Precedents that were decided by this group decades ago, still play a huge part in mandating not only the direction of our country; but also who will and won't succeed.  So even though Barack Obama thought he was being given a pass as the chosen one over Hillary; he too now more than ever must realize his fate as their pawn.  These are pure business strategies that don't include sentimentality for any who challenge them.  Think of boardroom discussions where whole sectors of society are deemed "disposable" for the overall corporate mission.  This is just that kind of a heartless group when it comes to their own success and survival.  Right now I'm livid with anger at how we are treating our young.  It's unfathomable that we let a destructive prescription and illegal drug culture kill our sons and daughters daily, with barely batting an eye.  Example:  Heroin addiction and abuse now, is far worse than it ever was after Viet Nam...and it was bad then!  Pedophilia and child pornography and the prostitution of children, has never been like it is today....and I'm talking in this country, let alone the world.  Education and training for any beyond those elite who want their progeny to succeed is atrocious. either for it's cost or the elimination of quality educators who are being forced out of jobs in huge numbers.  Not to mention that we are  allowing politicians to literally change History for their perspective, for those whose children attend Public Schools!  If you should be privileged enough to have the means somehow or the determination to succeed in achieving a College degree; you then are faced with the reality of the lack of jobs available to give those youth their earned Future!  When you make trying to make yourself better a joke....how do we ever inspire Future generations to aspire?

So today as I try and just sort my individual Future the best I can, I feel I'm always trumped in the end with dealing with an agenda that has nothing to do with me.  Should my job be able to survive all the Healthcare mandates and cut backs, I will obviously be grateful.  Even though I hate to look at my retirement investments considering the impact the Stock Market is having.  Still not being sure how long I'll have to work and even then if I'll be able to just exist in a reasonable fashion for all my hard work.  It used to be that another perk for being a loyal healthcare/hospital employee included automatic healthcare benefits in my retirement.  That has actually been non-existant for over 10 years now, so I'm in the same boat with all the rest of us facing uncertainty and dependent on legislators who care to take care of us.  I'm already having to watch my daughter struggle to attain her Future, let alone be able to plan for children.  I also just heard recently that my cousin who is near my age, is now forced to raise two of her grandchildren, while their mother completes a drug rehab program for a year.  A Future she and her husband hadn't counted on after already raising 4 children and still hoping they might know retirement someday.  This is also a more common situation than we think of, as our children lose their ability to find a Future. and their children are lost in the bargain.

I admit to having roots of a revolutionary nature; but even the old ideas of revolution seem to lose their glory in the face of attacking a government that is crawling with thieves.   Who have hoped we will forget that our country was built on it's bravery.  Bravery to not accept tyranny or denial of freedoms.  Until there is more bravery and repulsion at accepting what is dictated to us though, there will never be real change.  We've undergone so much continual conditioning by our government and the media barons at this point,  that it's hard to remember what a democracy really is, let alone depend on our Future generations to know how to model for it's cause.  Living in Boston where the landscape is rich and full of all that early revolutionary spirit, only makes it more sad to see how far we could have and should have come.  Makes me wish with all my heart for a woman strong and brave enough to say: "Enough is enough you guys!"  As all women know in our hearts, that mothers detest war and would look for more viable solutions than sacrificing our children in the name of profit for a few.  Women will cast out greed in the name of children in general, and can that be so bad?  Though we've been beaten down and made to feel we can never be qualified to play the game; who really want's to play this game any longer anyway?  Not until women regain their willingness to be seen as equals and command the respect they deserve, will there ever be those young women who can confidently vote for a woman in power, let alone strive to be one.  It may not be the only possible solution to have a woman leader; but it is still the one thing we've yet to try.  That statement in itself makes me see how truly crippled we've allowed ourselves to be, when so many other countries have had success with female leadership.  Need I mention for one the Queen of England?  Not that she's the perfect example by any means; but you can't deny the longevity and wealth of her domain.  We've tried crossing religious barriers by having the first Catholic president and that didn't work out so well either, and for all of Edward Kennedy's well intentioned appointing of our first president of color, that's not working in his favor or ours either.  So why shouldn't we be saying, "Why not a woman?"  A different animal who represents half or more of the population, may finally be just what we need,  In fact, this is sounding better all the time; but only if the right woman is supported whole heartedly would this be a the powerful catalyst it could be.  It can't be a woman who only wants to posture herself after the male philosophies that have doomed us.  No religious right wing canary who wishes to impose her personal set of values on us all.  Only a true Wonder Woman who wishes to save us all need apply.  Unfortunately, the ideal candidate may have to also be someone who has been dominated by and subjected to their evil tricks.  Otherwise she may not know how to turn it around on them; before they render her powerless....or worse make her disappear like some male counterparts who tried to challenge them.  It's all a strategy that I hope that more men and women will see and promote, that could finally turn around those good ol' boys and shut down their "only game in town" philosophy once and for all.

We've got to somehow breathe life back into our country again, and with someone who's capable of giving life naturally and understands a budget doesn't mean running up your credit cards, we might actually have a chance.  Seriously though, I think it may be our only chance.

In closing....finally...LOL.....I hope this discussion of Future relieves your pent up frustrations as much as it has mine.  I'm not saying I still have any clear ideas about how we should all be planning our Future today.  But I also hope to remind those listening, that if we can't see a Future for our country; it doesn't really matter what Futures we try and plan for ourselves personally....now does it?

Tragedy Made The Muse Take Flight...Trying To Court Her Back

Wow...I knew it had been awhile....but I didn't realize how long till signing in today.  Kept telling myself it was just a matter of not feeling the right topic yet...  "Not so",...says my soul..."you just chose to run away with that excuse."  Hmmm...O.K.  I'll own that says the still fragile victim.  But something is missing here.  Something I can no longer deny, that left a colorful playground a now black and white barren desert.  For anyone who recognizes an artistic quality in their design, they must at some point realize how fleeting those true expressions can be.  No matter what the art, creativity is truly something that must flow from the most precious places within us.  Places where thoughts, feelings, and spirit live.  A place never easily defined; but maybe the most real part of our individual makeup.  When a tragedy comes along that shakes us to our core; the door can sometimes close to that precious land.  I guess it's the body's way of using all it must just to cope.  Building tougher and stronger walls around all our emotions, just to protect what is left and so vulnerable.  I've been living all the phases of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder personally, and can no longer deny that no matter how strong a person you may be; it does not easily dissipate.

So I've accepted the diagnosis and researched the potentials.  Expected all the phases as they presented and worked to process the personal journey.  Short of seeking outside help, I have been trying my best to address that which would change me and my world.  Reading philosophies and testimonials by others who know this whole miserable experience intimately.  Gleaning wisdom and healing from many similar experiences.  Using my beloved ,who shares this fate simultaneously in his own recovery, and welcoming his earned insights as well.  Feeling so fortunate for having the one who loves me the most.   Knowing he knows personally, both physically and emotionally, what being slammed to your lowest by Life feels like.  Even more so, as Life saw to take his father who he cared for all by himself for three long years.  Making the ultimate service of love, for one who could no longer do anything for himself.  Watching the decline to the point of having to secede to an institutional option.  Living with the guilt of feeling he somehow let him die, by not giving the chance to die at home any longer.  Within a few days of our accident, that left him unable to make the Nursing Home visits...Life and his father decided his time to leave had come.  Left me pondering the old proverb, that Life never gives you more than you can endure.   But in the middle of that lesson, it never does really seem to ease the pain....and it's more the scars that seem to surface than real courage.  So does this mean that the scars themselves make us stronger?  I guess I'll live on that one for awhile and let you know;)

In the meantime, the physical healing is coming along well, even after two surgeries in the same month.  Good genes that have always helped me in the past, may be older now, but still seem to have a good resonance for their mission.  Part of my journey has included the people I come from.  Reminding myself they were all strong survivors in their own existence.  Hearing the lessons and words from precious grandparents now long gone, who always gave me the benefit of their experiences.  Recognizing the common thread of faith in all their lives in one way or another.  A faith in not only the seasons that always will come and go; but also the higher power who dictates the design.  Trying always to take the higher road, and give proof to the higher power they believed love them thru it all.  Existing beyond the extreme tragedies of losing children and spouses.  Drawing on their faith for the strength to carry on the commitment.  Living in hope for better times and doing what they must in the meantime.  There can be no better wisdom than the life lived well and true.  Sharing that wisdom with following generations to enable and give the tools they earned so intimately.  Reconstituting my own pledge to do the same for my precious daughter and her still to come progeny.  I realized again and more than ever, how blessed I am with such a colorful quilt of where I come from.  People whose lives still give me testament to the true core of all I am, even before I landed in the universe.  Maybe it is true that we choose our parents for the lessons and gifts they bring; even as they chose their parents and those before them.  You tend to have these Cosmic Consciousness moments while finding your pathway forward from tragedy.  You also find yourself searching for what was you again, to bring back the joy.  That essence and effervescence of soul and spirit.  That brings you knocking at that door that has sheltered all that is precious and asking it to open and release all your playmates once more.  The secret knock that will only unlock when it hears the right intention.   I'm knocking now everyday, softly and sincerely, with determination and inspiration.  Trying to show all the magick within, that I'm again worthy to wear all the bight colors and play with all the pleasures that wait to tickle and thrill me once more.

One of my current day heros is another brave, female spirit who faced the abyss that can be between you and that door.  Chrissie Hynde will always be a role model for me to draw on when I think I've reached the darkest paths of despair.  An artist who will not be branded as tortured, although she could have for many reasons and lives passing.  Who realizes that the beauty in life is really in the simplest things cherished and revisited and re-invented.  She speaks of all this in an interview now a couple of years old; but still a true reflection of of one who wishes to reflect truly always.

Food for thought that helps me fortify my passion for Life again, even while still feeling somewhat starved.  Remembering that to cherish things, we must re-learn the innocent experience in everything around us.  As I sit here experiencing the bountiful beauty of eating a Summer ripe cherry.  Amazed again at the color and texture of a gift for life's sustenance.  Whose sweet burst of tasty juices makes my tongue sing it's praises.  Reminding myself to not dwell always on the bigger picture, and miss the purity of each second.  Trying to go back to basics with all my senses and experience the universe again as a child.  Not fretting about tomorrow or beyond.  Only to miss all the bright colors of each brief moment as it is served up.  Savoring all the sensations without limits.  Allowing what is... to just "be".  Loving the experience more than the labels.  All the fuels that will give my soul flight and the Muse the playmate it deserves as I call to it to come and play again.

From the other side of the door I can hear faint giggling.  I can almost smell the sweet aromas trying to escape thru the cracks.  And I see a light that glows under the door now.  A light that seems brighter just now as I come back to write these thoughts.  But knowing that I've still not learned all the things necessary to know that special knock that would open the door and let it stay open.  Knowing that I should only try again and again to learn it's secrets.  As the prize that lies on the other side, is a whole new me that has been skipping with the muse and sheltered from decay by her loving magick.  A Muse that loves me afterall and will truly never leave...as long as I believe in her.  Who sends me a smoke signal from under the heavy door that says, "I Love You Too".

A beautiful poem about meeting your Muse:

"When I Met My Muse"

I glanced at her and took my glasses off ~~they were still singing.  They buzzed like a locust on the coffee table and then ceased.  Her voice belled forth, and the sunlight bent.  I felt the ceiling arch, and knew the nails up there took a new grip on whatever they touched.  "I am your own way of looking at things," she said.  "When you allow me to live with you, every glance at the world around you will be a sort of salvation.  And I took her hand.
